![]() ![]() ![]() When I released some models on the asset store for sale I specifically included that they can additionally be used for making video content or screen shots. All realvirtual.io assets are Unity editor extensions. ![]() droid15, 1 Taintspore Joined: Posts: 185 Yep, you just won't have access to paid features. realvirtual.io is licensed under the Unity Asset Store License Conditions. Does this mean that I can sell any game I make with unity basic without buying a license. For example, a strict reading of Appendix 1 section 2.2.1 could be interpreted as not allowing for assets to be used in trailer videos for a game which includes the assets, since the license only allows for use in games or interactive media, and a video is neither. I downloaded unity (basic) and it said thats its free for personal and commercial use. Non-restricted assets can also have some additional terms, but they can only be less restrictive than the Unity license. ![]() If you don't see anything mentioning that, then you are safe to assume the regular license is in full effect, which allows for commercial use in completed builds. Provider agrees that, pursuant to the EULA, it will grant to the Customer who acquires an Asset submitted by the Provider, a non-exclusive, worldwide, license in any medium now known or hereinafter invented to: (a) reproduce, post, modify, promote, license, sell, publicly perform, publicly display, digitally perform, or transmit the Asset for promotional and commercial purposes (b) use any trademarks, service marks or trade names incorporated in the Asset and (c) use the name and likeness of any individuals represented in the Asset.ĭoesn't this state in plain text that you can use assets from the Asset Store, no matter what the 3rd-party provider states about licensing in the asset description? The word "acquires" counts for both purchasing assets and just downloading free ones, right?ĭon't get me wrong - I'll give credit where credit is due - but I would worry a great deal less if that quoted paragraph states what I think it states. All assets from the store, including free assets, are covered by the same license. I got this from the Asset Store Provider Agreement ( ): I know this has been asked many times, but I haven't read any answer that (in my mind) is clear enough. ![]()
